Canon Point: Just before Zelda sends him back in time after defeating Ganondorf
History: Boop

Personality:

Brave is one word that people use to describe Link. He is the holder of the Triforce of Courage, and he shows it. Many people will tell you of his great deeds, of the way he saved people or the great enemies he's slain.

Link doesn't see it that way. From his point of view, he's just a person who did what he had to, who stood up the best he could, and who had a lot of help from people. Friendly is another good word to describe him, and he might shyly acknowledge that it's true, because he can make friends amongst all of the races - Goron, Zora, Gerudo (sort of)… and many, many others.

As he was raised in a safe haven amongst eternal children, Link is extremely innocent - though somewhat less so after his travels. The fact that he is literally a child in an adult body doesn't help, and it's pretty obvious just how childlike he is, considering he gets super excited over things as simple as a bottle (though to be fair bottles are pretty rad in the Zelda universe). He didn't exactly get "Surviving the World 101" from the Sages, and he doesn't understand things like engagements or much about love, even as an 'adult'. Link desperately wants people to like him and take him seriously. He was always seen as different by the Kokiri and so he was bullied a lot as a child, and so as an 'adult' he tries to look like he knows what he's doing, and like he is cool and intimidating and worthy of being liked all at the same time.

When facing down his enemies (which in his view are people who hurt other people) Link can seem fearless. This is not true. He's scared, but part of courage is continuing on even when you're terrified. It is this quality, above all others, that marks him as a worthy holder of the Triforce of Courage.

Link is clever and resourceful, able to solve puzzles quickly. He's not wise - he's definitely still innocent - but he's not stupid. He picks up on things in a matter of minutes when it comes to using a new weapon, and his determination to reach his goals fuels his adaptability. He simply can't stop to be confused or lost - people depend on him, and he has no intention of letting them down.

Amongst those he counts as friends, though, Link is a kind and gentle boy. He doesn't have a particular thirst for adventure, but he doesn't turn it down, either. He is loyal and fiercely protective of the people he loves if pushed, but most of the time he would prefer peace - though sadly such a state was very rare in Hyrule under Ganondorf's control.
